As hard as it may sound, the fear response is actually there to protect you, to keep you away from things that can harm you, like a wild animal, raging fires, being exposed to heights, moving out of your comfort zone… the list is long, but the fear response is there to keep us safe, but it can also keep us away from doing great things and experiencing life on a transformational level.
Fear is something that will always be present, but the more you keep taking steps, the mental fear emotion will lessen and get weaker and release its grip on you over time. Think of it this way, when you feel fear or anxiety when thinking about what it is you want to achieve, it’s an opportunity for you to grow.
As you start to grow the feeling of fear and anxiety will weaken, because you are now becoming familiar with something that was unfamiliar to you, you were heading into unknown territory, which is what triggered the fear response in the first place. As human beings, we are always fearful of the unknown, the challenge is to have the courage to get to know the unknown.
The psychology of fear is a complex one, but it also fairly easy to understand on a personal level. When it comes to achieving the life you dream, you know that there is nothing that is going to harm you, only going to be of benefit to you.
