I do not have enough time to pursue my life dream is a common excuse. I wonder how many great ideas have never come to fruition because someone said, I don’t have enough time to work on that idea, not enough time to make my dreams happen, not enough time to exercise. Not enough time to pursue any hobbies… sound familiar?
The excuse of I do not have enough time to pursue my life dream is #4 in our featured article Excuses That Destroy Life Dreams. This particular excuse is the biggest pile of horse s**t I have ever heard if you ask me. To top it off, it fills me with profound feelings of annoyance, disappointment and confusion.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I know that it can be hard to try and get everything done in a day, but that can be easily rectified by focusing and doing the things in a day that are a priority, doing the one thing that matters most, those things which are going to get you closer to where you want to go and what you want to be.
There is a fantastic book called ‘The One Thing’ by Gary Keller, I would highly recommend getting it if you are finding prioritising and getting things done that actually matter completed or if you have a lot of unfinished tasks.
If you start prioritising your time and tasks, then the 24 hours you have in a day will be better utilised and you will find that you have more time than you realise.
My BRUTAL TRUTH
OK, so you feel and have convinced yourself you lack the time to achieve a life dream or life goal. My question to you is, when do you think you will have enough time?
This excuse is similar to – Time is not right, I will do it someday..! – blah blah blah blah f*****g blah
Once your time is gone, it’s gone, you are never getting that time back. Just reading this and getting this far has taken you roughly 90 seconds…. IT’S GONE…
When you use his excuse, what you’re really saying is that you don’t really want to do it, you prefer to sit in front of the telly or play games, or whatever it is you do to WASTE TIME, when what you could be doing is using your time to do something that would be immensely valuable to you, your life and probably even others lives including your families.
You need to prioritise your time, and pursuing a life dream is a damn priority surely… or am I just a dumb ass mofo who doesn’t know what the hell I am blathering on about. Maybe I am more passionate about you achieving your dream than you actually are??
C’mon… cut the bullshit…. Here is the kicker – You don’t have the time NOT to do it!
The only time you have is between right here and now and your sudden demise. Now seeing that none of us knows when that will be exactly, you need… NO…. YOU MUST, get on and do it NOOOOW..!
Stop using time as an excuse not to turn your dreams, ideas and passions into a reality. If they are not enough to get you to take action and make them come true no matter what, then maybe you need a new set of dreams because it’s obvious to me they are not a priority for you if you are still convinced that you really don’t have enough time to achieve the life you truly dream and desire.
Be honest with yourself, there is no shame in admitting, you don’t want something enough that you’re not even prepared to devote just 20 minutes a day on your dream. If this is the case, then this thing you have in your head is not a dream, it’s a fantasy.
Get real and take the time to find your inner calling, purpose and passion.
